Full Name: Ana Catarina da Silva e Costa
Academic Qualification:
- Master Degree: Clinical Microbiology - FML/UL
- Degree: Biochemistry - FC/UL
Current Position
Assistant Professor
Instituto de Microbiologia,Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa, Universidade de Lisboa
Research Interests
My current work focuses the molecular epidemiology of Streptococcus pyogenes associated with non-invasive infection. I am interested in the clonal composition of the population of S. pyogenes isolated in Portuguese Hospitals, giving special attention to the macrolide-resistant strains, since antimicrobial resistance is a problem of major concern.
